Day One: Preparation Class Performances and Opening Speeches

The first day of the Speak & Sparkle English Dubbing Festival was dedicated to preparatory class students, marking an energetic and meaningful start to our two-day event. The program began with an opening speech by the project leader, Esma Dila Eldeymez, in which the purpose of the festival and the vision behind the Speak & Sparkle Project were shared with the audience. The speech emphasized the importance of experiencing English beyond the classroom and encouraged students to express themselves confidently on stage.
Following the opening, our project mentor, Meltem Çevik, addressed the participants and audience. In her speech, she highlighted the educational value of the project, the effort behind its organization, and the significance of creating inclusive platforms where students can combine language learning with creativity and performance.
After these opening addresses, the team captains of the Speak & Sparkle Project took the stage. Each captain shared their thoughts about their teams, the preparation process, and what the project meant to them. These speeches reflected teamwork, responsibility, and the sense of ownership students felt toward the project.
Once the opening segment was completed, the competition continued with performances by the preparatory class students. Participants showcased their English dubbing performances, demonstrating their pronunciation skills, emotional expression, and confidence on stage. Their enthusiasm and effort set a strong tone for the rest of the festival.
At the end of the performances, participation certificates were presented to the students by one of our school’s vice principals, Necdet Çalışkan. This moment served as a meaningful conclusion to the first day, recognizing the students’ courage and dedication while reinforcing the supportive and motivating atmosphere of the event.
