Zootropolis Day

This week in our Speak & Sparkle project, we had one of the most fun activities we’ve done so far. Since our dubbing work was based on Zootropolis, the students came to class dressed as the characters they were voicing. The moment we stepped into the classroom, the whole atmosphere changed. It wasn’t a regular school day anymore—the room felt like a colorful corner of Zootropolis.

Some students came in with Judy Hopps–style police badges, fully embracing her energetic and determined vibe. Others tried to capture Nick Wilde’s relaxed, sly fox attitude. And it wasn’t just the costumes—the gestures, expressions, and even the way everyone walked matched their characters. Watching all of this was entertaining on its own.

Once the lesson began, the scene work became much more lively. The costumes helped everyone slip into their roles more easily. Voice tones, gestures, facial expressions, and dialogue exchanges all felt more natural and realistic. Sometimes someone got too into character and the whole class burst into laughter—but even those moments were great practice for voice acting.

After watching all the performances, we had a small evaluation. We looked at everything—from voice control and teamwork to character accuracy—and finally chose the winning team. The happiness on their faces was priceless. The other teams congratulated them sincerely, showing great team spirit. Even though it was a competition, everyone supported each other’s performance.

This activity wasn’t just about dubbing; it also helped us with character analysis, teamwork, and confidence. We learned a lot while having fun together. It’s safe to say that this has been one of the most colorful and enjoyable sessions of the entire Speak & Sparkle project.
